What does success look like?
- A rich communication experience. Members sharing ideas, resources and interesting articles to develop discussion around your field.
- Assembling a workflow / guidance on how to get into your field so junior members or career changers have somewhere to start.
- A regular programme of high quality events. This could look like a series of regular events with ample opportunity for discussion and collaboration. Virtual, in-person or both.
Through connecting people we aim to increase the surface area of opportunity for collaboration and development.

Case study: Machine Learning group
One of our channels ran a weekly get together over Google Meets where they discussed all things machine learning and artificial intelligence. It was attended by both technical and non-technical members on a regular basis. Led by Junaid Butt and Yusra Ibrahim, it was a place for members to discuss ideas and developments within the field through ‘show and tell’ of interesting projects. Here’s a raving review from one of the attendees:
Junaid and Yusra are both leaders in their field and excellent mentors and guides. I found the ML club a great resource to learn new things, be exposed to parts of ML I knew nothing of, and see concepts and programs in action through demos. By sharing concepts, projects and code with us, both Junaid and Yusra inspired us in directions we could explore on our learning journeys.
